Hi! I’m Yelena —
I’m a Christian mama with a law degree, building a legacy with my handsome cowboy, Daniel, and our two toddler sons, in rural Missouri.
In 2024, we left city life to buy a 3-acre homestead, which we’ve named Havenwood Manor, and a 40-year old seed business in a small lake town.
I work full-time from home doing risk management for an accounting firm, and after seven years working for John Deere corporate, Daniel is now the CEO of our family businesses, Stockton Seed House and Spot On Wildlife Products.
We also do ministry together, where we help Christian singles navigate singleness, dating, and building a strong foundation for marriage. (Follow along with our Seek in Faith Substack here!).
What I write about
I write about building a legacy through faith, marriage, family and purposeful work. Whether you're single or married, I believe in thriving in your season and making intentional choices today that shape the future for generations to come.
In Legacy Living, I explore topics like building a team-driven marriage (including embracing a Biblical view of submission in marriage), faith, motherhood, stewarding home and work, and growing into the woman I want to become.
I have three regular columns:
The Sunday Journal: Published every other Sunday, this column chronicles our life building a family & legacy in rural Missouri. This is my written version of vlogging 📷
Ten Things: A roundup of ten random things on my mind.
What I’d Tell You Over Coffee: Advice I'd share with an engaged or newlywed woman if you came over to my house for coffee☕. My take on living out Titus 2:3-5. An imprint for the woman who wants a team-based, thriving, healthy marriage.

The Legacy Living Woman
Legacy Living is for the woman, single or married, yearning to build a legacy by saying "no" to what others are telling her she should do and "yes" to the story God is writing for her.
It's the single woman who wants to thrive in her single season, while also actively preparing for marriage, dating with intention and choosing a spouse she is equally yoked with.
It's the engaged woman desiring to build a thriving marriage and to discern how to be a Godly wife.
It's the married women who wants to build the dreams God put on her heart while prioritizing raising babies and loving her husband well, because we shouldn't have to choose between motherhood and work, or live overwhelmed by trying to do it all.
Swimming against the current of what everyone else around you is doing is hard.
But our God is not a God of copy and paste.
As we try to fit in and model our lives to look like the people around us or what we're told by society what we should do and who we should become, God is waiting for us to step into a story that is more than anything we could imagine for ourselves.
God's plans for us are greater than our dreams.
But few people will discover that for themselves.
Few of us are willing to take a leap of faith and step away from the crowd. To be the different one. To walk into the unknown. To build a life of impact and purpose. To leave an enduring legacy.
That's why my passion is to encourage women build a thriving marriage, a purposeful life and an enduring legacy.
It's time to build a life based on what matters most to you.
It's time to take a step in obedience towards the life God has in store for you.
It's time to be a faithful steward of what God has entrusted to you in this season.
It's time to invest in your legacy.
